Starting Sunday 8th March 2020 and then every second Sunday of the month, 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Greenslate Community Farm was started by the Transition Towns movement, part of a world-wide project looking for new ways we can create sustainable communities in the challenging environmental times we face ahead.
We’ve held experimental Farmer’s Markets in the past, but with the Rainford Farmer’s Market closing down, we saw the need to start a permanent one at Greenslate. Because we want this market to be a relevant and economically sustainable event, supporting the ideals of the Transition Movement, we’ve decided that it’s main focus will be on selling food. As much of it locally sourced as we can.
So, we are putting a call out to local food businesses that share our ideals to help support a Farmer’s Market that offers an alternative to the food system that’s doing so much damage to our planet. If you have a local food business and want to get involved supporting this project, please contact Rhiannon Jones by emailing rhiannon@greenslatefarm.org.uk and let us know what you would like to sell.
If you want to do something positive for the planet and your community, please come along on March 8th.
