Come and meet our residents at Greenslate Community Farm and find out what it takes to be a farmer at Greenslate. Take a behind the scenes tour of the animals at the farm and have a go at feeding, grooming and learn more about what makes Greenslate Farm special.

The event is for 5 to 11 year olds and each ticket admits one child accompanied by one parent/carer. Please note that children must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18.F

Come and explore life on the wild side and put your conservation skills to the test. For ages 5 to 11. Parents don’t need to stay.

Take part in bug hunts, pond dipping, build a bug hotel and explore the furry and feathered friends on the farm. This activity is great for any child who loves nature and exploring the world around them.

Suitable for ages 5 to 11 and best of all, parents do not need to stay! On arrival, we ask for a parental consent form to be completed.

Get hands on experience with our animals at Greenslate in this interactive tour. Suitable for ages 12 to 16.

Are you interested in animals? Want to get real hands on experience caring for them?

In this session, we take you on a tour of our farm animals where you can feed, groom and interact with our residents and find out more about their unique personalities and how we care for them.

Suitable for 12 to 16 year olds and parents do not need to stay! We ask that parents and carers fill in a parental consent form on arrival.2

Create a Wild Camp, have a go at wild woodland crafts and cook S’mores and more on an open fire. For ages 5 to 11.

Create your own Wild Camp, build a den, create your own tools, try your hand at some wild crafts and learn how to cook S’mores, bush bread and more on an open fire in this hands on woodland adventure.

Suitable for 5 to 11 years, and parents do not need to stay! We ask parents and carers to complete a parental consent form on arrival.2

Zombie Apocalypse Training

Ages 12 to 16 – Parents don’t stay – £12 per ticket – 2 hours

Test your skills in this interactive bush craft workshop. Learn what it takes to make it through the apocalypse. For ages 12 – 16.

Create a base camp, make your own tools for survival, forage and cook on an open fire and learn key skills for success in the wild. Will you make it through the apocalypse?

Suitable for ages 12 to 16, and best of all, parents do not need to stay! We ask parents and carers to complete a parental consent form on arrival.

Donkeys Day Out

Donkeys Day Out

Ages 5 and above – Parents stay – limited numbers – £25 per ticket – 1.5 hours

Get hands on experience with the Donkeys at Greenslate and find out more about their amazing personalities!

Have a go at grooming, feeding and take a trek through our woodland with Freddie, Candy and Grace, the Greenslate Donkeys!

The session is a small family group activity, so there is plenty of one to one time with our Donkeys, including learning about their care, grooming, play time and even a chance to take them out for a stroll around our 25 acre woodland.

Suitable for Children aged 5 and above, each ticket includes admission for one child with one accompanying adult. All accompanying adults must be aged 18 and over.55

Additional Information

Can all participants ensure they dress appropriately for the weather with flat, comfortable outdoor shoes as this is a working farm environment and will be based outdoors throughout. Please ensure sunscreen is used.

In the case of an activity where parents do not have to stay, we ask for a parent or carer to complete a parental consent form so that we are aware of any medical conditions and contact details during the activity. We reserve the right to call parents to collect their child in the event of inappropriate behaviour if we feel they are causing distress or harm to others, or not following safety advice from staff without refund.

Where parents are present on activities with their children, they are responsible for close supervision and behaviour.

We reserve the right to make amendments to activities in the case of weather, environmental or unforeseen circumstances. We will assess the activity before commencement to ensure it can go ahead safely.

In the case of activities with our animals, we reserve the right to make amendments to planned activity should our animals show signs of upset or if the activity is inappropriate at the time, as the animals welfare is our priority. We will endeavour to deliver a like for like experience with a suitable alternative activity.
